What this site is, and what it is not
The Energy Upgrade is a publisher. We are not an installer, an energy supplier, a heating engineer or a regulated financial adviser. We do not fit equipment, we do not sell equipment, and we do not carry out surveys.
Everything on this site is general information about home energy upgrades in the UK. It is not advice about your property, your heating system, or your finances. Every home is different, and the only way to know what a heat pump, solar array or insulation measure will cost or achieve at your address is to have an appropriately qualified person assess it.
Before committing to any installation you should take advice from an MCS-certified or otherwise suitably qualified installer, and satisfy yourself independently about eligibility for any grant or scheme.
Accuracy
We take care with the figures we publish and we say where they come from. Grant values, scheme rules, energy prices and installation costs all change, sometimes at short notice, and pages can fall out of date between reviews. Where we are working from an estimate rather than a verified figure, we say so.
We do not warrant that the content is accurate, complete or current, and you should verify anything you intend to rely on, particularly grant eligibility and deadlines, against the relevant official source.
Quote enquiries and installer referrals
If you submit an enquiry through this site, your details are passed to one or more installation companies so they can contact you. Those companies are independent businesses. We do not employ them, supervise their work, or act as their agent.
Any contract you enter into for a survey, supply or installation is between you and that company, on their terms. We are not a party to it, and we have no liability for the quality, timing, price or outcome of work they carry out, nor for any statement they make to you. Any dispute is a matter between you and them.
Being listed or referred through this site is not a recommendation or an endorsement, and it is not a guarantee of quality. You should carry out your own checks, including verifying certifications, requesting references, and obtaining more than one quote.
How we make money
We receive fees from installers in return for passing on enquiries. This is how the site funds itself. It does not change what you pay, and we do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage, favourable comment, or placement in any ranking or comparison.
